Installation Apprentice/Technician
Responsibilities:
Glass cutting.
Repair various products/windows.
Empty trash as needed.
Keep shop and trucks clean and organized.
Maintain clean workspace to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
Interpreting blueprints/orders/job notes to determine the shape, size, color and thickness of glass for installation procedures.
Measuring and marking lines or patterns on glass before cutting.
Cutting glass to size and specifications in the workshop and on the job site.
Loading glass or mirror fittings onto delivery trucks for transport to the job site.
Driving trucks to job sites and unloading and installing glass and materials.
Fabricating and installing moldings for glass installation.
Cutting and removing broken glass prior to new installation.
Operating tools and equipment to handle and set glass units properly and safely.
Cleaning the job area once glass has been installed and the client is satisfied.
Be willing to learn on the job and take direction from others.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be able to lift at least 80 lbs.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Available to work Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:00pm with an hour for lunch.
Experience in glass cutting a plus
Knowledge in other glass related areas, such as commercial storefront, shower doors, etc. a plus
Responsible/Dependable/Punctual for work.
Deadline and detail-oriented.
Willing to take and follow instructions .
Self-motivated and self-driven.
Maintain a good, positive attitude.
Ability to work well as a team and as an individual.
Able to communicate effectively.
Maintain a neat, professional appearance.
Willing to learn and take on new tasks and responsibilities.
Must be willing and able to pass drug test.
Computer Skills a plus.
Willing to train the right person.
