About Hiegel H&S Glass

About Us

Locally owned and operated

Serving Conway Since 1997

Over 50 years experience

Best Window Company 2016, 2017, and 2020 by Log Cabin Democrat

We started out as part of Hiegel Lumber and Hardware which was started around 1910. The glass deparment was added in the 1940’s and served Conway and Central Arkansas until its closure in 1997. Two employees from Hiegel Lumber, Bobby Hopkins and Mark Stiefvater, bought the glass department in 1997 and opened Hiegel H&S Glass, Inc. and continued the tradition of serving Conway and the surrounding areas.

Our company is founded on the values of quality, community, and communication. We are family-owned and operated, and we want you to feel like a part of that family as soon as you walk in the door. That’s why we always accept walk-ins! Because when you need glass repair or replacement, you need it now! Our staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to serve. We’re happy to answer questions, draw up designs, place orders, and schedule installations – whatever you need!

The Hiegel H&S Story through the Decades

Serving the Conway and central Arkansas community is our family tradition. Proudly serving our friends and neighbors since 1997.

Hiegel Lumber and Hardware’s glass department opens, expanding the lumberyard which had opened in 1910.

A weathered building with peeling paint and green window frames stands beside a brick structure. Corrugated metal sheets are stacked in front. The building has an unusual door above ground level. Trees and a glass shop sign are visible.

1960's

Hiegel Lumber grew as did the glass dept.

Two people are in a cluttered store. One man stands near shelves filled with tools, wearing a dark jacket and hat. Another man is writing on a clipboard, dressed in glasses and a cap. The store is dimly lit and crowded with various items.

1970-1980's

Hard at work through the 1970’s and 80’s.

A brick storefront with a sign reading Hiegel H&S Glass. A neon Open sign glows in the window. The building has a striped awning and a sloped roof. Various notices are displayed on the glass door.

1990's

We move from the lumberyard to our current location at 1056 Markham Street! In 1997, Bobby Hopkins and Mark Stiefvater buy the glass department from the Hiegel family.
